LITERACY INSTRUCTION THAT WORKS

Spark’s qualified tutors offer support for children struggling with reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. Through research- and evidence-based, multi-sensory, incremental, explicit curriculum, students learn to read, write, and spell confidently—while becoming aware of the extraordinary gifts and strengths that accompany dyslexia and the ways in which they can celebrate and cultivate these strengths.

Spark’s approach is rooted in the widely recognized and respected Orton-Gillingham method for teaching students who need explicit, structured literacy instruction and/or remediation.

SPARK'S TEACHING APPROACH IS:

MULTISENSORY

Students are listening, saying, touching, and seeing to bring the written language alive.

RESEARCH-
AND EVIDENCE-BASED

INDIVIDUALIZED

We move at your student's pace and provide extra practice when needed, incorporating growth mindset activities to support your unique learner!

STRUCTURED AND CUMULATIVE

MEET CARTER!

Carter is a former Spark student who now tutors our younger emerging readers!

Carter completed Spark's dyslexia reading intervention program and was inspired by the positive impact it had on his learning and his life. He was determined to make a change in dyslexic students' lives and well-being by teaching structured literacy himself.

He has proudly shared his experience and presented to fellow students about the strengths associated with learning differences and the power of learning to read in order to read to learn. We appreciate Carter’s warmth, humor, and professionalism. He quickly became an outstanding reading tutor, and we feel so fortunate to have him as a part of Spark's team of dyslexia specialists!
